Details:
Bottom Ash can be found directly on the waterfront at Hamburg harbour. On closer inspection, we do not find stones, but rather our solid waste burnt in a rock form.

Bottom ash is burnt household waste – the waste of waste. Everything that does not burn at the municipal incinerators. How toxic is this material?

The current research project is investigating the components in the stones and the extent to which these materials can still be used. The first part of the research deals with the shapes of the artificially produced igneous stones. At the moment, attempts are being made to produce glazes from them.
