Title:
Linen
Work:
Performative art
Location:
Bolzano, 2019
Details:
By imitating the physical experiences of workers in flax processing, „Linen“ focuses on the individual reflection of the consumer. For a few minutes, body routines are performed by workers along the textile chain of flax processing, who gain an insight into the demanding manual processing steps, the craftsmanship, precision and physical work that people perform every day.
Through this performance, textile production is explored. Through the physical movements, images are created in the mind during the performance and a change of perspective is thus made possible. A relationship to the people who make clothing is created. After the performance, short video sequences of the manual processing steps of flax are shown, which were previously performed physically.
